~~Learning to ♥ and other FUN stuff~~

I just learned something new from an Etsy forum post...Now for those of you who already know this, please bear with me...lol!

You can make the ♥ and other symbols on your pc. Make sure the Num Lock is on your number pad. All you do is press the ALT key (left and right of the spacebar), then press 3. After you release both keys, there is a very slight delay and the ♥ will appear~~Voila'♥

By playing with the other numbers you get: 1-☺, 2-☻, 4-♦, 5-♣, 6-♠, 7-•, 8-◘, 9-○

AND you can combine numbers 155-¢, 211-╙ and so on..

Have FUN!!

♥Lynn

Changing it up~Venturing out

Well after many hours (over the course of several days...) Ta-Daaa...My New Blog Look~~ I just LOVE this blue!! Thank you sooo much Background Fairy!!

NOW, to figure out how to add a girlier, frillier, prettier type of font! If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment. I am so open to any help~~Lol!

As I was searching for images and I got sidetracked many times, I found this little angel, ahhh!

Little Victorian Lady Pictures, Images and Photos

I am working on a couple of new ideas for crocheted flowers that can be used in different creative mediums. Will post them as soon as they are finished. One of the very many gifts I have received since jumping into the Blogging World, is all the magnificent talent out there...I am blown away by all the beautiful works of art in every form. From one very small speck of sand, Thank you ladies...please keep sharing your gifts!

Another gift that means more than anything is the love and support that I have received from you that have visited. I have promised myself to step out this year and try new things. So this is one of them! Again, thank you...

Bouquet of Thread Petals

I found these little thread flowers that I had made a while ago. Since our real petals aren't growing yet, here is a collection that can be made in all colors and sizes at any time. These are available in many sizes and colors and would great to add to your artistic creations. The pretty pink is my favorite fiber to work with....alpaca~~I love it, so incredibly soft and a dream to crochet with. The little bonnet is crocheted out of New Zealand wool and is the first bonnet I ever made... Happy Spring, well almost!

Pretty as a Picture~~

Don't you just love this sweet picture of this mom and her girls?

Brings back memories of ~how our babies smelled,~ the little wifts of curling hair at the back of their necks,~that droopy little prize of a flower just pulled (with dirt & roots hanging), held in that chubby, dirty outstretched little hand...Ahhh, the memories and the innocence..

Can't wait for Spring flowers, just wish we didn't have the pollen (or yellow snow). I know you can't have one without the other and it is just a short time, kinda...lol!But I look forward to working in my yard and getting everything in shape. I LOVE my roses and miss them when they are not blooming.

Here is a photo of the very first blooms on our Cherry Tree last Spring, taken by our neighbor~~
Enjoy the moments~~

Take care,

Lynn

Rainy Day in Georgia

Today is a rainy and chilly here in the Atlanta area. The kind of day that you really would love to stay in and be cozy.
Don't you just love this little angel girl dancing on her tippy toes?? Remember doing that and not having a care in the world? I recently was walking out of the grocery store and a sweet little girl was right in front of me. She was in her own little world, just humming away....totally precious. I remembered that feeling and realized how scarce it can be in the real world.

So my wish today for you my sweet friends, is to have just that moment. That's right, just space out and hum, and even twirl around...it is worth it!!

And oh, oh, here is another one of my little creations that is available...Antique rose and ecru/cream Baby Hat and Booties. Yarn is acrylic and very soft. Fits Newborn (0-3 mos). I will be replacing the pearls with either freshwater pearls or maybe some french knots, (to comply with the new CPSIA law).

Take care...Hugs,
Lynn

The Joy of it all...

How fun is this??? The response to my baby-blog has been remarkable. I was thrilled to receive comments on day ONE! Sweet emails from friends too have helped encourage me to forge forward. Thank you all SO much!

I wanted to show you a bit of my work. This was a custom order that I made for a lady that wanted something for her first grand-baby boy-to-be. It is 100% cotton crochet thread and the bonnet is from a 1950's pattern. I added the seam binding ribbon to give it the vintage look.

I love the whole process~~ from finding a new pattern or creating one, visualizing the colors, textures and then the actual process of crocheting the piece. You know when you are almost finished and have that moment of : sigh, YES!, excitement?? There is nothing like it...to make something from start to finish. That moment is priceless..

Everyone has a special talent, even if it is still undiscovered. We are all of worth and do matter. So to that "moment", may we all have it today, tomorrow, this week!

Take care~~~Lynn

Happy Valentine's Day~~~

This is my very first blog, so bear with me...lol, really. I have wanted to leap into the blogworld for quite some time now. This morning I was encouraged by Marcie (The Rustic Victorian) to take the leap. So... (sigh!) with today being the day of love, romance, sentimental thoughts, here we go!

I know this will be a work in progress and that is the fun, right?
